Over One Hundred Nautel Transmitters to Modernize Turkey’s National FM Infrastructure
Multimillion dollar contract awarded to Nautel for transmitters for the Turkish Radio - Television Corporation (TRT). January 15, 2009- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia Canada – Nautel Ltd. today announced that the company has been awarded the contract for 133 FM transmitters ranging in size from 1kW to 20kW. The digital capable transmitters will be used to modernize Turkey’s national FM Radio infrastructure and will be deployed by Turkish Radio - Television Corporation (TRT). Nautel had previously announced that it is also supplying multiple 300kW transmitters to be used to modernize Turkey’s medium wave broadcast capability. Turkey boasts a world class public service broadcaster in TRT. Based in Ankara, TRT provides one local, eight regional and four national radio services. In addition, Voice of Turkey provides programming in 27 languages including Turkish on shortwave. TRT radio is available on internet, satellite and cable as well as terrestrial services. Nautel transmitters are designed to provide maximum on-air continuity with ease of service by utilizing hot-pluggable RF power modules and power supply modules.
